Veritas intentionally dedicates time to raise awareness about the significance of Veterans Day and to recognize the Veritas relatives who have served or are actively serving in the military.
In the weeks leading up to Veterans Day, our students created a display along our playground fence. Poppy flowers with words of gratitude were hung to bring awareness to Veterans Day, and honor to those who serve. It was this display that peaked the interest of the Wayland Student Press Network, who joined our special Veterans Day chapel and wrote a feature on the event. You can read their full article here:
Our chapel service included a reading by Caleb of the many service men and women connected to Veritas. Then, Mr. Beckett and Henri hosted a question and answer time with a panel of local Veterans. Finally, Mr. Beckett shared how a Veterans service in the military is one example of how unconditional love for others is lived out each and every day. He specifically drew upon John 15:13, "No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends."
We would like to thank the four Veterans who graciously came and shared what it means as a Veteran to put service before self. Pictured Left to Right:
